Gold prices in 5-month low with Fed in focus

© Reuters. Gold prices remained at a five-month low on Tuesday as investors continued to focus on the Federal Reserve's monetary policy meeting this week. In the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, gold futures contracts fell by $ 3.00, or about 0.24%, to $ 1,243.90 a troy ounce by 11:40. It is widely expected that the Fed will raise interest rates at its two-day monetary policy meeting that will close on Wednesday; currently two or three interest increases are expected next year, but worries about lukewarm inflation may change the outlook for 2018. Gold is sensitive to movements in US rates, which increases the opportunity cost of having low-yielding assets such as yellow metal. In addition, data released on Tuesday showed that producer price inflation in the US and its core reading rose as expected in November. Still in the Comex division, silver futures contracts fell 0.32% and traded at $ 15.74 per troy ounce.

On Monday (27) Petrobras announced to the market that it started production of the Libra block, located in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. Investing in Bitcoin through the Atlas Project

But the investment in Bitcoin hides some problems barely perceptible at first sight. The first is the difficulty on the part of the beginners in acquiring the currency. Although using Bitcoins on a day-to-day basis is very practical for those who are used to cryptomoeda, the initial investment in the asset involves a process that can be painful for several people: choosing and creating the account at some bitcoin brokerage, document validation, deposit banking, account login, fulfillment of the purchase order and only then finally the ownership of Bitcoin. The second problem of application in Bitcoins is the fact that the gains always depend exclusively on the appreciation of the currency. That is, if one bought 1 Bitcoin for 20 thousand reais, and a few months later the price increased to 30 thousand, the profit was only because Bitcoin rose - but, the total amount of Bitcoins always remains one. There are no interest or dividends. Thus, most investors in Bitcoin adopt the B...
