The governor of São Paulo and future president of PSDB, Geraldo Alckmin, assured that the party will support pension reform, reported the Broadcast.
The party was publicly pressed by the chief Minister of the Civil House, Elisha Padilha, to position himself publicly in favor of retirement. Alckmin has a meeting scheduled with President Michel to fear this Saturday and pension is one of the themes that should be discussed.
In a survey made by the Folha de S. Paulo, eight toucans were declared against pension reform, while five support the text presented by the Government and two partially favorable. Five remain undecided and 15 did not manifest.
The favorable positioning of toucans is taken by the Government as essential to guarantee the 308 votes necessary for the approval of pension reform. In addition to the party votes, the plateau believes that if the PSDB closes issue in favour of change in pension schemes, other MEPs may feel more comfortable in approving the unpopular design.
This week, the party was criticized for claiming three changes that would discharacterize the project by maintaining benefits to public officials. The movement was seen as a way of distancing itself from the government of eye in the elections of 2018.
Alckmin agreed to chair the PSDB this week after the intervention of the former President of the Republic, Fernando Henrique Cardoso, and the withdrawal of his competitors Tasso Jereissati and Marconi Perillo, in an attempt to unify the party. The governor of SP should officiate the landing of the Allied government base.
